Decking
Many types of pool decks are possible. The following descriptions may aid you in selecting a deck for your pool plan.
Cantilevered edges are highly recommended for their finished look appearance.
Concrete – the least expensive of all decks to install. They may be colored, and finished in several textures – broom finish, mag troweled, etc.
Stampcrete – concrete decks that are colored, and stamped with a texture and a design. Many designs and an infinite color palate are possible.
Borderless Textured Stampcrete – similar to stampcrete but without a pattern. The texture and color render the look of a monolithic slab.
Concrete Pavers – man made blocks in several styles and colors are installed over a prepared base and held in place by polymeric sand that repels grass growth. They have the advantage of being easily removed and replaced as needed.
Exposed Aggregate – a concrete deck with small stones added to the top surface. The stone selected by the customer can range from ¾” to jelly beans, and many, many colors.
Cut Stone – comes in a myriad of choices, bluestone, travertine, granite, flagstone, etc. installed over a prepared bed. They are usually held in place with mortar and mortar joints.
IPE – or Brazilian Rosewood is a very dense wood that resists moisture, infact it does not float! A good choice also because it does not produce splinters.
Mahogany – a very popular choice, nice dark colors.
